Feed Prices

Feed prices are extremely volatile at the moment, with some companies changing their prices monthly. We will always do our best to keep you uptodate with feed price movements. How ever there are a few simple things you can do to make sure that your horse gets the best from his feed.

Here are some ideas for helping you through what could be an expensive winter.
  1. Make sure that your horse is wormed regularly, ideally all horses on a yard should be wormed at the same time particularly if they are sharing the grazing.
  2. Pooh pick fields regularly, this will help reduce the amount of stale pasture there is and increase available grazing. I hate doing it just as much as anyone but it is worthwhile.
  3. Have your horses teeth checked regularly, rough edges on the teeth can mean that your horse doesnt get the best from its feed.
  4. Buy nuts/cubes or pencils. These feeds may not look as appealing as the mixes but you can usually save yourself about £1.00 per bag.
